Submissions Guidelines
Authors submitting manuscripts to The Indonesian Journal of Computer Science Research (IJCSR) are required to prepare their articles according to the journal's manuscript template and the following guidelines. Manuscripts that do not follow these requirements may be returned to the authors for correction before proceeding to editorial evaluation.
Language and Manuscript File
Manuscripts should be written in clear and grammatically correct Indonesian or English. Authors are responsible for ensuring the clarity, consistency, and accuracy of the language throughout the manuscript. Authors are encouraged to proofread their manuscripts carefully before submission.
Manuscripts must be prepared using the official IJCSR Microsoft Word template and submitted in an editable Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). Authors should use the paragraph styles and formatting provided in the template rather than applying inconsistent formatting manually.
Article Title and Author Information
The article title must clearly describe the research topic and reflect the main contribution of the study. The title should be written in Times New Roman, 16 pt, bold, and left-aligned, following the journal template.
The names of all authors and their institutional affiliations must be provided clearly. Author names should correspond to the correct affiliations. The corresponding author must be identified, and a valid email address must be provided for editorial communication.
Abstract and Keywords
Each manuscript must include an abstract in both Indonesian and English, following the structure provided in the IJCSR template. Each abstract should contain 200–230 words and summarize the research background or problem, objectives, methods, principal findings, and main contribution.
The abstract should be presented as a single, concise paragraph. Authors should follow the template's formatting requirements, including Times New Roman, 9 pt, justified alignment, and the specified indentation.
Each manuscript must include keywords in Indonesian and English. Provide a minimum of three and a maximum of five keywords for each language, separated by commas. Keywords should represent the main research topic, methods, concepts, or techniques discussed in the article.
Article Structure
Manuscripts should follow the main section structure provided in the IJCSR template.
- The Introduction should explain the research background, the problem being addressed, the research objectives, and the limitations of the study. Authors should discuss relevant previous findings and clearly identify the research gap. The section should also explain the novelty and contribution of the current study.
- The Literature Review should provide a systematic discussion of previous studies relevant to the research topic. Authors should critically compare existing research, including its strengths, limitations, and unresolved issues, to establish the rationale for the current study. This section should also present the theoretical foundations, concepts, principles, or mathematical models necessary to support the research. All sources cited in the text must be included in the reference list.
- The Method section should provide a complete and detailed explanation of how the research was conducted. Authors should describe the research design, data sources, data collection procedures, methods of analysis, algorithms, models, experimental procedures, or system design, as applicable. Where relevant, authors should include a research framework or flowchart illustrating the main stages of the research. The methodology should be described clearly enough to allow readers to understand and assess the research procedures.
- The Results and Discussion section should present the scientific findings obtained from the research and explain their significance in relation to the research objectives and questions. Authors should interpret the findings systematically and support their explanations with appropriate evidence. Where relevant, results should be compared with previous studies to identify similarities, differences, improvements, or new findings. The discussion should also address relevant strengths and limitations of the proposed method, model, or system.
- Tables, figures, graphs, photographs, and other illustrations may be included when they help clarify the findings.
- The Conclusion should provide a concise and clear summary of the principal findings and explain how they address the research objectives. It should be consistent with the results presented in the manuscript and should not introduce unsupported claims. Relevant limitations and recommendations for future research may also be included
- Authors should organize the manuscript using clear and consistent heading levels. The section numbering and heading hierarchy must follow the IJCSR template.
- The main body text should use Times New Roman, 10 pt, with paragraph indentation and other formatting as specified in the template. Authors should use the designated Microsoft Word styles for headings, paragraphs, captions, and other manuscript elements wherever available.
- Figures and tables should be included in the relevant sections of the manuscript and numbered consecutively. Each figure and table must have a clear caption or title and be referred to in the manuscript text. Authors should ensure that all figures, tables, graphs, and diagrams are readable and directly relevant to the research. Sources must be acknowledged when materials are reproduced or adapted from previously published works, and the necessary permissions must be obtained where applicable.
- Equations and mathematical formulas should be numbered consecutively and formatted according to the IJCSR template. Equation numbering should be aligned as shown in the template.
- A statement describing the contributions of each author is mandatory. Authors should use the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) to identify the contributions made by individual authors, such as conceptualization, methodology, software, investigation, data curation, writing, review and editing, or supervision, where applicable. The statement should accurately reflect each author's contribution. The manuscript must also include the template's declaration that all authors have read and agreed to the published version of the manuscript.
- Every manuscript that passes the editor's desk evaluation or is published will be checked for similarity using Turnitin/iThenticate software. To proceed to the review/production process, documents must meet the maximum similarity limit of 25%.
- A funding statement is mandatory for every manuscript. Authors should identify the funding organization, research grant or funding program, and grant number where applicable. If the research did not receive a specific grant from any funding agency, authors should state this explicitly in accordance with the wording provided in the IJCSR template.
- The Acknowledgments section is optional. Authors may acknowledge individuals or organizations that contributed to the research or manuscript but whose contributions do not justify authorship. Authors should ensure that the acknowledgment is accurate and that any necessary consent has been obtained.
- Authors must address the use of artificial intelligence tools in manuscript preparation in accordance with the IJCSR template and applicable journal policies. Where applicable, authors should disclose the use of AI tools for language editing, grammar checking, or improving readability. Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and entire content of their manuscripts. AI-generated or AI-assisted content must not be used to misrepresent research data, analysis, results, or conclusions.
- References must follow the IEEE journal reference style specified in the IJCSR template. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software, such as Mendeley or Zotero, to maintain consistent citations and bibliographic formatting.
- In-text citations must use numbered references in square brackets, such as [1] or [2]. References should be numbered according to their order of appearance in the manuscript.
- Each reference number should correspond to one source, and every cited source must appear in the reference list. The reference list should contain at least 15 scientific journal articles published within the last five years.
- Authors must also cite at least two reputable international articles and two articles previously published in IJCSR. These requirements should be met alongside other relevant scholarly sources necessary to support the research.
- Authors should prioritize credible scientific publications and provide complete bibliographic information, including DOI information where available. Authors should carefully check references for accuracy and consistency with the in-text citations.
