The Role of Motivation, Work Environment, and Individual Abilities in Improving the Performance of Secretariat Employees of the PUPESDM of DIY

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to determine and prove the influence of motivation on improving the performance of employees at the Secretariat of the Department of Public Works and Mineral Resources (PUPESDM) of Yogyakarta Special Region; to determine and prove the influence of the work environment on improving the performance of employees at the Secretariat of the Department of Public Works and Mineral Resources (PUPESDM) of Yogyakarta Special Region; to determine and prove the influence of individual abilities on improving the performance of employees at the Secretariat of the Department of Public Works and Mineral Resources (PUPESDM) of Yogyakarta Special Region; and to determine and prove the influence of motivation, work environment, and individual abilities on improving the performance of employees at the Secretariat of the Department of Public Works and Mineral Resources (PUPESDM). The population in this study was all 49 employees at the Secretariat of the Department of Public Works and Mineral Resources (PUPESDM) of Yogyakarta Special Region. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling. Saturated sampling or census sampling is a sampling technique in which all members of the population are used as research samples. In other words, all 49 employees were used as research respondents. The analytical tool used was multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the analysis results, it can be concluded that there is a positive influence between motivation on employee performance with a t-statistical significance value of 0.004. There is a positive influence between the work environment on employee performance with a significance value of t statistic of 0.001; there is no positive influence between individual ability on employee performance with a significance value of t statistic of 0.129; there is a significant influence of motivation, work environment, and individual ability on employee performance with a significance value of F statistic of 0.000.
